Potty Training

I think she has it. Janna has been using the potty, wearing big girl underwear, and having very few accidents for about two weeks now. This is even with a temporary new teacher in her classroom. At night we still have diapers but they stay dry about half the time. For long car trips we have put her in a diaper too. For trips to the store, library, etc she stays dry and will go in any restroom. There have been a couple of stubborn mornings where I have bribed her with a cookie to wear her big girl underwear, but it works. She is very proud of herself and we are proud of her.

Overall she is doing really well. When she is tired or it is Monday she is clingy and grumpy but will generally run off with friends with a quick good bye to us in the morning. My beautiful little girl is growing up and become very independent these days.

Growing Up

Last night Janna slept in her Toddler bed all night long. Yeah! For those who don’t know she has been on the futon except for a brief two weeks in January when she first got the bed. This time she did not roll a lot and hit her head on the side bars. She only woke up once and was easy to put back to sleep. She lost her pacifier. I don’t know if it will happen again, but I am proud of my little girl.

Also this morning as I was finishing getting dress she told Isaac she needed to poop and actually wanted to sit on the potty. Isaac took her diaper off and she sat down. Then she wanted up. Isaac could tell she did need to go, but we let her up. As he was trying to put on the clean diaper she started pooping. She did not want to go back to the potty so she finished in her diaper. But as Elmo puts it Janna understood the “got to go feeling”. I love that red little monster that convinces Janna to eat bananas and sit on the potty. This morning Janna made Isaac and I very proud. My little girl is growing up.

On a side note on the way to school we went over letter sounds and she got them all right. She even knew the letter “v” today. Yeah Janna!

Potty

Last night I was going to the bathroom and Janna follows me in and stood at the door and said "Poo POO Poo" . I checked her diaper and there was nothing there. She was getting frustrated that I didn't know what she wanted so I took her to go feed Molly. I opened the container of food and instead of starting right away she just stood there. I ask Isaac "What is she doing". He said " I think she is pooping" Sure enough a second later the smell came. I checked her diaper and yep it was dirty.

Janna was telling me she needed to Poo. We are planning on talking and getting supplies for potty training after the break. According to the books I wasn't' sure she was ready, but now I know she is ready to at least try and introduce it.

I am so proud of her! She just keeps growing up:)
