The vending maching

So I was extremely hungry and my snack drawer is empty. So I decided to go the vending machine. I took my crisp dollar bill and put it in the slot and the $1.00 sign didn't show up. I tried the change button but nothing. It took my money!!! So I walk across campus in the rain no coat to student services to get my $1.00. I got a second crisp bill, not taking any chances I go up to the second floor and change and then back down to the machine. I insert my three quarters and choose my bag of chips. The wires moves out and down down down comes the bag ....then stop.....it gets stuck. I am so hungry, errrrr, I need these chips. So I kick and shake the machine with no luck. I try reaching my hand and the flap is too big. Determined to get my snack I go to the spo to see if my friend Jason is working. He is and has a lot more muscle then me. So after 5 minutes or more or shaking and hitting the flap he finally got my chips out. We had a good laugh. I have only see this happen on TV before. Yeah!!!! Thank you Jason.

Big Girl Bed

After an hour and a half of Isaac banging and gnashing and yelling Janna's toddler bed got put together. Afterwards Isaac states " I am not putting any more furniture together, ever!". I am sure more furniture will have to be assembled at sometime but I know that we will not buying anything in the near future that say "assembly required".

Janna was very excited to crawl onto her new bed and giggled at the fun of having her own bed. She has been on the futon since the beginning of November. She has been sleeping well on the toddler bed. She still wakes up occasionally but just as much as she did with the futon.

It was a big moment going from crib to toddler bed. It is another big sign that our little girl is growing up. It is sad to us that she is no longer that little baby in the crib but the big girl that can get in and out of bed on her own. We look forward to all our "getting big moments" but will always have fond memories of when she was little.

Learning

Janna learns new things everyday. It is such a blessing to watch her grow.

We have a fish puzzle that you match the fish tails with the fish and there are different colors. Janna isn't able to get the pieces in straight but she will put the matching colors together. She gets upset and fixes it if you "mix and match" the colors.

She loves to aks "What's this?" to eveything over and over.

Her favorite book right now is the peek a boo book.

Her favorite video is Larry. (Veggie Tales)

Janna loves her kitchen and table and chairs. She will set up the table and poor drinks and stir. She loves to turn the light on and make the boiling sound then stir whats on the stove top.

We got a potty for her to get use to seeing. At first she just wanted to put food in it, but she she knows that you sit on it without a diaper and will do about once a day before bath time or at any other random times. She calls it " botty". Yesterday she stood up and touched her diaper and we asked are you peeing. She said botty. So we went to potty and took our swimsuit( yes that is new favorite outfit) and our diaper and sat down. I am excited that she understands the concept.

I know there are more but these are the fun new things.

I look forward to watch the new things she will learn. I think the Lord feels the same way about us when we learn more about him. Excitement and Joy!

Happy Janna

Janna has been really happy lately. She still have her tantrums and strong willed moments too but over all she has been a happy little girl. We have gotten numerous big belly laughs and singing as she walks room to room. When she is really happy with something she says " i appy" (I am happy) over and over. She did this during her favorite breakfast of cinnamon rolls on Sunday morning.

It is such a joy to see her smile!

A cute story

Another funny Janna moment. She is now 21 months old.

While at daycare playing in the hallway, one of her friends started throwing a tantrum/fit and was crying loudly. Janna must not have like that and called down the hall to the director's office..."Chelle, Chelle...." Michelle the director was talking to a parent and trying to figure out who was calling her. She said she had never heard Janna speak that loudly before. Why she was calling Chelle and not the teacher two inches from her who knows. I think that Michelle and Janna have a great friendship going. It revolves around lolly pops and lots of love:)

Happy Birthday Isaac

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ISAAC! WE LOVE YOU!

Christmas 2007

We had a great Christmas filled with travel, family, and fun. We first went to my parent's house for a couple of days and then to Isaac's parent's house. We spent the new year at home recouping from all the traveling. Janna received a Kitchen set and numerous dolls and accessories. She had so much fun ripping into the Princess and Elmo wrapping paper. She liked the gifts too but loved the ripping of paper. She helped with our gifts as well. We went bowling with my brother and Dad while my mom watched Janna. We had a great time. It had been 5 years since we bowled last. I hope to do it again soon. We got to see Aaron, Christina, and Asher this year too. It was so nice to spend time with them as a family. Asher keeps growing and has beautiful head of curls. Christina is expecting their second child, Aaliyah, in February. She looked good. It was especially nice to have Aaron home since he was in Iraq last year. We all went out to see National Treasure on a double date. Isaac took the GRE and got what he needed to between all this fun. It is a big relief to have that off his shoulders. We saw the extended Collier Family on Friday before we left for home. It is always a good thing to see Maw Maw and PawPaw. Our car was packed full on the way home with more to be delivered later. We are very appreciative of all that family has given us during Christmas and through out the year. Next year the van will be making the trip instead.

We got home and unpacked and prepared for family coming back that next day. Janna did great sharing toys with Asher until he came to our house. At home everything was "mine" and all out physical battles. It hind-sight it was funny, to see a spivey small red head pull her own against a growing toddler boy.

We spend the rest of year relaxing and enjoying the quiet. (Or as quiet as it can be with a toddler in your house).
