BurpRag is Found

We found the burprag on the playground this morning soaking wet and looked liked trash, hopefully a little love and the washing machine will help. I thought about not showing her but after she cried last night how she liked the big burprag and she missed it, I showed her.

So until next time....we have it our 'lovely'.

Janna's burp rag

I have read that is harder for the mom to let go of the 'lovey' than the child. I think this is the case. Janna has lost her burp rag at school yesterday. She has been using it less and less and has talked about not taking it to school, but usually does in the end. It may show up at school today but she wasn't upset that is was gone. She does have a half of one she slept with last night ( the washing machine ripped it into pieces). I have to admit I am the one getting upset an angry when we can't find it because she leaves it behind. Part of me thinks it is because at bed time she will want and have a fit but that may not be the case at all. I need to let go of her "lovely" and acknowledge that my little girl is growing up. This is a lot harder than I thought.

At least Simon now has his adopted Elmo and any burp rag, so I am still have something to hold on to.

Isaac

Isaac's bone is completely healed and he can slowly stop usually his boot as he is comfortable. The bruising is gone. He still hurts after long days but it is getting better. Yeah!

He has been teaching and giving test this week for his mentor.

He is still doing his small accountability group and has his mentee for confirmation too.

He has gotten the desktop cleaned off and out of the house.

Brakes fixed on the Escape, mostly.

He has been really good at starting to de-clutter the study( currently where Simon sleeps).

He is a good father and husband who helps a lot in the evening when it is crazy and loud.

Last night he and Janna colored Minnie pictures for decorations for her Birthday party.

This morning and Simon were play with the Dog game. I love seeing him interact and love on the kids.

Isaac has a lot on his plate but in the mist of everything he makes sure that we, his family, feel important. I love you honey!

Singing

Janna has been going around singing, just just the ABC and twinkle twinkle little star to Simon but Big songs. This morning she was singing Part of your world in the little mermaid. She will sometimes be looking in the mirror singing Cinderella. She is getting more words right each time. It is so cute, I just love it.

Playground

Last weekend we went to two playground, on one walk, and really enjoyed playing outside. Simon loves to climb on the playground equipment but it completely unaware of the edges that are the big drop-offs, so I stayed up high while Isaac was on the ground. Simon sat down at the slide, even the covered one, and went down giggling. At the bottom he just "falls off" and rolls in the dirt and gets up to do it again. He loves it. Janna went down the slide for the first time by herself the first time too. They are growing so fast.

Simon still doesn't like the swings but Janna will swing on her belly.

What going on?

*Isaac's foot is feeling better. He is still in the boot and it still is sore after long days, but much better.

* I burned my finger really bad on the oven putting the chicken inside without a glove. The sting is gone but it is healing slow.

* We are taking Janna to Princess Disney on Ice (shhh it is a surprise) at the end of the month. I am so excited.

* I have ordered the supplies and invitations for her Minnie Mouse Birthday Party.

*Isaac has been working out consistently (modified due to foot).

*I have been de-cluttering the house slowly the past few months.

*I am excited to see the sun and warmer weather so the kids and I can play outside.

* We are enjoying our Young adult group at church and the close friendships.

*I get to scrapbook monthly with friends, very fun!

*Overall we are all doing well and enjoying life.

Simon (18months)

Here are some new things going on with Simon.

He loves Elmo -calls him Belbo

He has adopted an Elmo stuff animal from daycare. We take it home and bring it back everyday.
Although we have plenty of Elmo at home, he only wants this one. I am on a hunt for the same one. He holds him at night and in the morning has him in his hands and hugs him when I hug Simon.

He is saying a lot more words:
Wawa-water
burprag
spoon
Cocok-cookie

He loves yogurt and is getting a lot better at feeding himself.

He like choc.chip muffins

He doesn't like macaroni and cheese

He will eat some type of hot dogs

He will eat pizza most of the time

He loves canned mixed fruit

He loves balls. He thew a fit in target over huge balls in a display, because he wanted it.

He is enjoying puzzles

He is currently hating bath time, he won't sit down but will play leaning over the tub with Janna in there. I am still coming up with theories why he won't sit.

He has started to like sitting in a big chair like mommy and daddy. He gets so proud.

playground

Yesterday I took the kids to the playground. I am so surprised at what they can do now on their own. Simon climbs up the steps on hands and knees and goes down the slide by himself. Janna is going down slides by herself now and climbing up some steeper steps. Simon likes the swing only for a couple seconds but Janna likes to swing on her belly. Janna walked across the wobble bridge by herself and Simon with little assistance. They had a great time.

Isaac's foot cont.

Isaac's foot is starting to feeling better. Although still very sore(especially at night and in the morning), the is less pain. He drove today down the street. The bruising and toes look worse to me and still swollen. I am thankful for a bit of improvement though.

Mr. Bill

Conversation with Janna as leaving the Drug Store after picking up her medicine for her ear infection.

J: Is this Mr. Bill's office

M: yes this is where he works

J: He gives medicine to kids to make them feel better

M: Yes that is right

J: Mr. Bill does a good job of making medicine

M: Yes he does. Mr. Bill is a nice and does a good job of getting medicine to help you and Simon feel better.

Later when we got home...Janna talking to Isaac

J: Mr. Bill told me to shake the medicine a lot before I take it, then put it in the refrigerator next to Simon's

D: What favor did you get?

J: bubble gum, it isn't yucky like before ( Mr. Bill didn't give us the last round)

J: Mr. Bill is nice

D: Smiles and says yes

So Bill --Janna is no longer afraid of you and she knows exactly what you do now:)

Janna + Doctor

I took Janna to the doctor today because she has been coughing a lot and saying her mouth hurts. Some good friends of ours (the whole family) have strep, so as a precaution we went to the doctor again. Janna has a double ear infection and is now also on Augmentium. Her cough is just a cough and her lungs are clear and no strep. Doctor told her to play outside. We did as ordered and had a good day together. We also rested and took a good long nap together.

Orthopedic

Today I drove over to Richmond road to take Isaac to the Orthopedic. The bone is chipped and very badly sprained, very swollen. Also it has multiple small hairline fractures. It is very bruised. Isaac is in a boot for six weeks. We go back in two weeks to get it checked. Then it should take about 3 months for a full recovery. Isaac is very discouraged about this. He was doing great at exercising and working out. Please keep praying for his pain and encouragement.

Simon + Doctor

I took Simon to the doctor today because he cough was sounding awful and it always seems to go to this lungs. We call Dr G. again, we were just there on Feb 19th. Simon still has an ear infection but his lungs are clear. We are now on Augmentium (cherry flavor). They didn't leak this time so I wasn't' sure, but he was batting at his ears so I should have known.

Isaac's ankle

Isaac stepped off the porch step this morning when taking the dog out to potty. He snapped his ankle and was in intense pain. After dropping the kids off at school, we drove the doctor where it was x-ray and put in a half cast and given crutches. It is very badly sprained and has a chipped bone. We see the Orthopedic on Thursday. Please be praying as Isaac is in pain and needs healing.
