Simon Pulls Up

Simon learned how to pull up and sit down today! I think those remotes helped motivate him. What a cutie!

Bath Night

We were finishing up dinner and I said, " Janna it's a bath night"
Her response " oh man"

She doesn't like bath nights. She has fun once in and doesn't cry, but she doesn't want them. Now that it is getting warming she comes home smelling so bath night is more often than she would like. " oh man"

She is so cute. I love her expressions and responses, even the bad ones.

Check Up Time

Janna is three years old.
Height- 35 inches (6%)
Weight- 26.5 pounds (7%)
Blood Pressure- 80/50

Simon is 9 months.
Height- 27 1/4 inches (14%)
Weight-16 lbs 14 oz (3%)
Head Cir-45 cm (37%)

Janna was so well behaved. She stood on the scale and up against the wall for her height. She talked to the Doctor. She let him look in her ear without a fight or a tear. I am so proud of her. We do need to get Janna to the dentist between age three and four. That could be fun. She didn't have to get any shots. Yeah! The four year appointment she gets four shots. Janna did really well with getting her blood pressure taken, this was a first. She didn't want to wear the small gown they gave her. She loves to just wear her diaper. She was so cute telling the doctor how it was going to storm and what her favorite food were-yogurt and green beans.

Simon did well. He had to get is iron tested with a finger prick. He didn't like that but he did like the band aid afterwards. He cried during the hip test too but was fine after that. He gave the doctor a lot of smiles. His ears are fine. Apparently around 9 month their sleeping pattern can change. Although he is still small, he is growing fine with where he is on the growth chart. He is still gaining weight. The doctor wasn't concerned. If he doesn't have teeth at 18 months then you worry. Simon gets to start more table food including meat, etc. Anything he can munch.

The appointment went very well.

Mother's Day

I realized I never posted anything on my Mother's Day. I got my favorite dinner made by Isaac, time with great friends, a Elmo card, and the best gift of all-Janna said " Happy Mother's Day" right before she crawled into best. Who could ask for anything better:)

This morning

Simon was non-stop smiles this morning. He was very happy. Last night he was up about every three hours to eat, so maybe it was a growth spurt or just teething. He almost jumped into Kayla's arms this morning. He will miss her when she leaves.

Janna was snugly and mostly happy. Didn't want to go to school as usual. When we got there she remembered Tuesday was movie day but she isn't in that classroom anymore. She got very angry that she didn't get a movie today. I think her day is tomorrow but she will probably be at the doctor during the whole movie time. She is so resistant to change but she will proudly tell you she is in a big girl room now. How did she know it was Tuesday. She is a smart little girl.

Red light Green light

Janna told me this weekend that green means go, red means stop, and yellow means slow down. I am not sure if I told her this while driving or she learned it at school. I love hearing all the new stuff she learns. Although that night she asked me what the blue sign meant, I told her that told us where the gas stations and food were.

Simon's ears

I think that Simon has another ear infection or the other one didn't go away completely. We go for his 9 month check-up and Janna's three year on Wednesday. I am determined to not take him in til then. I hope I am wrong and he is just teething and very fussy.

Underwear and Bras

We went to get Janna's three year pictures taken on Saturday. On the way out of the store she saw a lot ladies underwear.
Janna: What is that mommy?
Me: That is big girl underwear for mommy like your strawberry shortcake underwear
Janna:oh

We stopped in Target to get a baby gift for a friends shower. On the way out we passed the bra and underwear section. Very loudly Janna points to the bra and says "those are for big nipples".

What can you do but laugh and keep going?

My Rant

There are very few things that really get me mad and they are usually the small stuff in life.

For example the time I was looking for a diaper box for Janna and the store only had one so I picked it up and found it open with a handful/ one diaper taken out. How rude!?! Because of them I had to buy the smaller bag that cost more to get by until next time I went out.

But my new one......McCafe! I have been a long time fan of McDonald's French Vanilla Cappuccinos. They are sweet and they only cost around 1.00. I loved this little treat. Now that the McDonalds have the McCafe they no longer have these. If you try and order one they charge you 3.00 for vanilla latte that taste awful. If I wanted expensive coffee, I would go to
Starbucks. Why would I pay just as much for one coffee as a kids meal for Janna. It makes me so mad. So from now on if the McDonald's has a McCafe the neighboring gas station will get my business where I can buy my 1.00 coffee and be happy. The only drawback and you can't drive though which is a problem if you have kids in the car.

So that is the end of my new rant. Thanks for listening.

OverNight Date

Isaac and I had a great time on our over night date. Thanks Mom for watching the kids and the dog.

Our empty backseat. It is strange having no kids back there and very quiet.

Lunch at Skyline. Look at all that cheese and we didn't have to share.

Checking in to the room.

The Air Force Museum.

Food Break....Look at all those chips!

Right before the IMAX film of Under the Sea started.

Great dinner at Outback. We enjoyed our quiet dinner and didn't have to rush. I got to eat with two hands the whole time. Wow! Then we walked around a walmart before we got...

Yummy Milkshakes.

After a goodnights rest of uninterupted sleep we had first breakfast at the hotel and second breakfast our favorite McDonalds.
Next stop the movies to see Wolverine. It was really good. I wasn't very excited to see it at first but I really liked it.

After the movies we stopped for a quick lunch at Taco Bell and headed back for the kids.

It is good to have them back. Grandma did a good job was wearing them out. They had a great time.

My final shot of the weekend is this....Janna holding her toy airplane we got her as she sleeps.

Simon

Simon is feeling much better after a day home with mom, half a day with Dad and a day home with grandma. Thanks for your help Mom. He is smiling more and army crawling all over the rooms. He still has a cough that doesn't sound great but it is from drainage. He hates his medicine and screams when you give it to him. This is very different than Janna. The medicine is causing some "fun" diaper changes too. Overall he is feeling a lot better.
