Counting

Janna has this new thing about getting up really close to the TV and kissing, patting, or just plain looking at her favorite characters. Each time we warn her to move and if she doesn't move then we turn it off. She will then back up or throw a fit before we go to a different activity or bed. The other night we gave her a warning and I told her I was going to count to three before she had to come back to us or I was going to turn it off. I know she doesn't get this concept yet but I wanted to try at least.

We have been working on counting not as much as letters but some. We have been trying to get her to say her age of 2 (next month) as well.

Well... I said one....then she turned around looked at Isaac and I with a big smile and said "two". It was so cute we both cracked up laughing. She is catching on to counting:) We then turned off the tv because she didn't move and put her down for bedtime. I wish I could describe the sly smile on her face as she said "two" the "look at what I can do" was perfect.

Swimming Lessons

Janna had her first swimming lessons on Thursday night. When I sent in the registration I had this fear of her screaming the whole time and made sure to look up the refund policy. The night before I tried on her swimsuit and from her screaming I thought this isn't going to work.

We got to the pool and I figured my way out around the locker-room and to the pool. She let me put her big bird swimsuit on no problem. There was a crowd of parents and children by the pool. It was the first swimlesson of the session. Janna was fine and didn't get scaried by the big group. Once we separated into the group of parent/child class Janna kept say "in" . She wanted in the pool and piratically dragged me in. Once we were told to get in she was excited. The water was very cold and took awhile to to get use to. For a few minutes she was saying "out" . Most kids had chattering teeth until their little bodies adjusted.
We did the hokie pookie song and ring around the rosie. Each child got a duck or a ball to play with and reach for. Janna loved this part. There were times that she didn't want to do the back or belly exercises but overall she was good. Janna's favorite part was sitting on the edge of the pool (in a certain spot) and kicking and splashing then sliding into the water to me. She was so cute. It was cold out of the water but she just wanted to "sit" as she repeated numerous times.
When it was time to get out she threw the biggest fit ever. She didn't want to leave. In the locker-room trying to her and me dressed was like wrestling a bear. She tried running back to the pool numerous times. She was upset the whole way home until we got to our street. She calmed down once home. This was not the problem I though we would have. I wonder how next week will go. :)

Jacket

My mom tells the story about how she would dress me in the morning and then go get dress and when she came back I had completely undressed myself. I knew this day might come but not yet.

This morning Janna was refusing to put her jacket on, so I forced it on her and zipped it up. I then went into the kitchen to get my purse. When I came back 5 seconds later she had the jacket completely off. I had no idea she could do it herself. We have always helped her take it off after school. Not worth the battle today I grab the jacket, my purse, her bag, and her and took her to the car with no jacket.

I knew my little girl was growing up and learning new things everyday and she still is able to to surprise me.

Potty

Janna peed in the potty at daycare yesterday after telling the teacher she needed to go potty. I am so proud of my little girl! She has sat on the potty numerous times but has never gone. Yeah Janna!

Oh What A Wonderful Day

Janna went to sleep by 8pm and only after 15 minutes of me in there helping. Yeah!!! Then a wonderful thing happened....she slept through the night until 6:20 when I was getting out of the shower. Sleep is a wonderful thing, it makes everything better and you happier. Maybe that is why on the 7th day God rested. Maybe that is why he gave us the sabbath. After having many night is a row of little to no sleep and over an hour to get her to sleep this is a big deal:) Today is a good day!

Smile:)

Isaac and I have had a lot going on the past week. To name a few... car battery quiting, loved ones in the hospital, sickness, etc. Each situation has worked itself out for the most part. God takes great care of us. But it has been a week of many what else can go wrong..... Usually on the way to school Janna is fussy, crying, saying no no no, or just plain quiet. She doesn't wake up well (just like her parents). Well today was different, the whole way to school she sang " I happy" as the chorus and the other words I have no idea but it was cute. She was so happy. It was just what I needed to make me smile and assure me that it all works out and God really does get us through the rough times and wants us to smile.
