Simon

Simon is now crawling on his hands and knees. No more army scoot. He is getting fast and will come to you when you call him. He is a cute little baby boy!

Simon=ear infection

Simon has another ear infection. He has been pulling on his ear but I thought it was just teething until Saturday when he was warm and screaming and not sleeping Friday and Saturday night. Isaac took him to the doctor and took the day off to care for him. The doctor gave him Augmentium right away instead of Onicef first. The pharmacy didn't flavor this so it doesn't taste good, they said we can come back which we may.
Please pray for Simon that the pain will go away.

Lexington Legends

Isaac and I got offered free Legends ticket for free. The seats were five rows behind home plate. These seat were awesome. The restaurant let you order from your seats and brought you food, but we got the typically ball park food instead. We took Janna, and she was so excited. She wore her pink ball cap and was so excited to be like Daddy. She saw other people at in the parking lot with hats and said, look mommy, he has a had like me. Then she saw a purse with sparkling circles at decoration. " I like that purse mommy". She is such a girlly girl and so cute. After the first inning she asked when it was her turn to play. It was so cute. She also kept looking at the back of her shirt asking if she had numbers on her shirt. We treated her to a carousel ride, which she enjoyed, over in the kids area. I wish I had seen more of the game but we were up walking around a lot until the end when it was late and we had to go in order to pick up Simon, who was staying with friends. We all shared special treats of Dip and Dots Ice Cream, cotton candy, drinks, etc...Since we didn't pay for tickets or parking we were okay splurging on these items. Janna warmed her way into the older lady and the group next us and managed to get them to offer her a couple napkins full of popcorn. The lady was very sweet and patient with having a toddler right next to them. We didn't stay for the firework due to Simon and it was getting late even for Janna, but maybe next time. We had a great Saturday night at the ball park and are grateful for friends who think about us.

Then right after I took Simon inside, I went back out to get Janna out of the van and she said, "I was bery patient mommy." She was so cute.

My Birthday

I had a great birthday weekend. Saturday morning I went yard saleing with Janna, while Isaac and Simon slept. Janna likes to wake up at 6:30 every Saturday, oh the fun. I got some great stuff though. I got got two plastic flower mirrors, a butterfly picture holder board, strawberry shortcake towel, and a barbie blanket. Janna loves this blanket. It cost 50 cents and she didn't let go of it all weekend. I had no idea she would like it that much. I just got it for school since she always has some random blanket for nap. She took it in this morning so I think she knows it stays there but we will see. At the first place it was one of Janna's friends from school so she went inside and watched scoobydoo with her and played while I looked around. Then we got a JayJay movie and Hermie and Wormie book from another house. I have great intentions to find a good boy /neutral decorations but oh well. It is a cute girlly room with Simon's toys and clothes included, while he sleeps in the study. It works for now.

Then Mom and Dad Hopper came over and watched the kids and even gave them both a nap while Isaac and I went to O'Charley's for lunch and then to the movies. I even got to go to Hobby Lobby (with no kids!) while Isaac picked up some groceries. We grilled out steaks and had my favorite hashbrown casserole for dinner. Then we got to have my huge cookie cake Isaac got for my birthday.

Isaac and Dad enjoyed their Father's Day gifts. Janna picked out a fun card that sang that Isaac and her loved. We bought Isaac a green tie since he lost his. We mailed my Dad his gift since we weren't going to see him.

My parents got me a zoo pass for the family. I am really looking forward to going up there. It is nice knowing if it is hot or Janna is tired we can just go home and come back later I don't have to feel bad about wasting the money. Plus we can go to the festival light with the pass.

Mom and Dad Hopper got me a ton of Bath and Bodyworks and a old navy gift card. Yeah shopping with out questioning my purchase and how much I am spending.

Sunday we went to church, Janna refused to go into the little classroom when the pre-K one was closed so she stayed with us , which stress me out a bit but oh well. Then we went to Eric and Rachel's new house. It was a beautiful house. Janna loved to run around in circles over and over. They bought me a delicious cake and ice cream. Janna loved the ice cream. They got me pj's and a family picture from their wedding that I wanted framed. I love this picture. Janna got Rachel and Eric at different times to crawl around the house pretending to be kitty cats. It was fun to watch. Isaac played Wii with Eric and Rachel and loved it, while I hung out and played with Simon. It was a fun day.

That night I opened Isaac's gifts, I got High School Musical 3 and pj's. I love them both. He did a good job this year.

One cool thing, I love my job, which I know most people can't say. My boss texted me on my birthday, saying "Happy Birthday. I appreciate you." I think it is so cool to have boss like that.

The sweetest thing about my birthday is when Janna gave me my big hug good night, she said "happy birthday Mommy" then sang Happy birthday to me, while hugging me . What more could I ask for.

We ended the night, Isaac and I watching my movie before I got too tired and went to bed.

It was a great day. It is still hard to believe I am 29.

Daddy

Over the weekend Simon said DaDa clear as can be. He has been working on it for awhile and Janna will hear it but we didn't. So over the weekend when Isaac was feeding him, he said it, "Dada" It was so cute and Isaac was very excited.

Janna has been loving on Isaac more which has been great too. Wanting Daddy to carry her or read to her, etc.

What a great early Father's Day gift, how do you compare a tie to this love.

Isaac's "stamp"

This morning Simon woke with beautiful bed head just like his sister. He has a cowlick just like Isaac in the back of his head. I wet it down but by the time we walked into school it was sticking straight up again. His hair is growing fast now, he will need a hair cut way before Janna did. Isaac and I were talking about Simon's hair then he looked down at Janna and said look here is her cowlick. Hers is a bit easier to hide with her longer hair. Isaac said this is my stamp, they are mine. They have lots of Isaac's and mine qualities and looks but they both have an Isaac "stamp" of the the cowlick in the back of the head. I will try and get pictures some morning.

A sweet but sad post

A friend of ours at church, Liz, her mom has been fighting cancer but a last week she was getting worse and given a couple months to live but that couple month turned to a couple weeks fast. Janna and I made card for Liz to lift her spirits while she spent this time with mom. Janna wrote lots of little circle and lines and told me it said I love Liz. I explained to her that her mom was sick and this card would make her happy. So I thought that was it, then Sunday when getting ready for church Janna told me she wanted to sit next her friend and give her the card. Now Friday I found out that Liz's mom past away and they were making arrangements. I explained to Janna with tears in my eyes that Liz wasn't going to be in church because she was with her mom and that I mailed the card to her. Janna was okay with this and we went on with our morning.

We have delivered meals and treats to though who need an extra hand and given paci and old toys to babies/kids who need them. I hope to teach Janna the good that we can spread and how we can show God's love.

Janna has a big loving heart like her Daddy and I can see her doing great thing when she is older.

Janna moved up

Janna has moved up to a new classroom and a new teacher Ms Beth. She really likes Ms Beth. She sits on the potty for her and responds well to her teachings. I like Ms. Beth because she is teaching Janna great songs and great lessons. She is a college student and home in Wilmore for the summer so she will be leaving in the Fall but I am enjoying her this summer. Ms Beth will also take Janna even though she has just walked through the door and not make her wait. The great thing about this change is that since Ms Beth, Janna will go right in without crying and screaming in the mornings and no clinging. My little girl wants to go to school and doesn't ask to stay home. I know Janna still has her moment of screaming and fits after all she is still Janna. I am very happy about this transition and enjoying the ease of summer.

God little creatures

I hope that God makes extra worms, ladybugs, etc for all the kids including mine who don't intend to harm them but do.

Janna loves lady bugs still but we haven't found any one yet so ladybugs beware. We have a cute turtle cage for you ready and waiting. They usually die at the loving hands of Janna petting and playing with them but maybe they will last long in a cage. We will see.

Last night the kids and I found a worm on the sidewalk. I pointed this out to Janna and I wasn't sure how she would react. She loved it. She picked him up and petted him and talked about how he squirmed and moved. She talked about how God made him and not people ( a lesson they are talking about at school). She asked a couple of time to bring the worm inside but I told her he had to stay outside in the dirt. Then she showed Simon who was really excited and tried to reach out but I distracted him away this time so that he wouldn't be too rough. Well she showed him again how he was slimy and Simon reached out with his strong hand and ripped him into two pieces. Janna reacted well. She said No to Simon very sternly and told me Simon broke him, so we buried him the dirt and I said hopefully overnight once he sleeps he will feel better and grow bigger again. I know that worms to do have this ability, what I am worried about is that prior to Simon breaking him, he wasn't moving much probably due to all the stretching and extra love. Before bed she asked me to pray for the worm that he would get better.

This morning we saw a bunny rabbit in the neighbor's yard. As it ran off she asked to pet a bunny rabbit. Isaac mentioned the zoo and we could pet animals there. So the whole way to school she talked about petting a PINK bunny at the zoo. I tried telling her that bunny's usually aren't pink like her stuffed animal ones, but I don't think she got it.

So God I hope that you make extra creatures and protect them from children like mine that are out exploring all the stuff you made for us to enjoy.

Vacation Pictures

Vacation

We had a great time in Sanibel Island with my parents. The kids loved the beach and the pool.
There was great weather. The flights went well. Janna had her normal stubborn moments and meltdowns but overall was really well behaved. In the morning and afternoon we went out for a couple hours, first to the beach and then to the pool. We did really well with sunscreen by the end of the trip we were still very white. Well, my Dad's back was sunburned. A funny Dad story, I am not sure what he packed but somehow he forgot a lot of stuff, the big thing he forgot was shorts. He only had pants. We were going to Florida, sillly Dad. He ended up buying a pair of short on the last day. We enjoyed the small shops and restaurants during the heat of day. There were a lot of shells on the beach, we even managed to get some home in our overly stuffed suitcases. It is amazing how much stuff we brought and used most of it. I squeezed in a pool float for Simon and I am so glad I did, he loved it. I wish Isaac could have been there but I know he is having fun in England. I am looking forward to him coming home Sunday. The view was awesome and I loved the smell of the ocean. Now back to life and work. I will post some pictures when I get a chance.

Thanks for the vacation mom and dad. We all had a great time.
