Ear Infections

Monday I took Simon to the doctor because I was pretty sure he had an ear infection. I ended up taking Janna too because the appointment was at the end of the day. On the way there Janna started saying her ear hurt. I wasn't sure if it was really hurting or she wanted the same attention, or if it was just wax. When we got there she told the Dr Wilson her ear hurt too and she was so nice as to look in her ears even though I only had the appointment for Simon. Yes, she had an ear infection too. Both of them had infection in the right ear. Since Simon has tubes he had to get drops too. I am so thankful for the Dr Wilson to take the extra time for Janna. I am glad that we went instead of putting it off until later. The kids were overall good at the office for me. The hard part was picking up the prescription, the cost was very expensive. My kids are more important than money, so we will do whatever it takes to make sure they are healthy. I just wish we had better health insurance with less of a monthly premium too. Both now have bubble gum flavored augmentium. Simon has drops that will last him awhile after this too.

Both kids are less cranky and sleeping good. Simon is waking up earlier than usual but I believe he is still hurting some.

Ear infections are very common is our household apparently so I don't think much of them any more. I am glad that they are treatable.

Simon

Simon will be turning 2 in just a couple weeks.

He is a lovable boy.

Simon is talking more. It is great to see all the words he says. His new word flashlight. He is putting words together now too. He told me last night as he handed me a ball. Mama ball, Simon ball.

Yes he still loves balls.

He loves Cookie Monster and Elmo too.

He has taken an interest in planes too.

He likes the show dinosaur train of PBS.

He loves Mickey too.

When he picks movies it is usually 101 Dalmations (loves dogs) or Mickey mouse.

Simon is now always in his big boy bed and does well in there.

He sleeps with with two silky blankets that Aaron and Christina gave us, a couple burp rags, and his paci.

I was close to get rid of the paci by now but no luck, maybe soon though. We will see, he uses it mostly at nap and bed time. Sometimes when he is upset too.

Simon is learning his limit and boundaries. We are working on hitting and biting mostly but also just listening.

Time outs work most of the time.

Simon gives awesome hugs and his smile will brighten your day.

Back to Everyday LIfe

We have been getting back into our normal routine. Isaac is back working part time hours and studying in the mornings. This week he has added working out back into the mornings.

Simon was/ is teething and is drooling and sniffing. Then Janna started. I think she has a bad cold. One morning she told me, "Mom my sense of smell is gone." Such big words. She loves learning what new words means, we call them fancy words.

Then Isaac started not feeling well. Then he pulled a muscle in his back.

I have been care taking for the family and keeping us on schedule. I have also been working on my Uncluttering Book Project. I will blog more about this later. In short I have been going through parts of rooms and boxes each night and "bothering " Isaac to help me decide what need to be kept or not. I have also made a family schedule of chores and things to be done daily and our schedule. I will post this later too maybe.

We have been swimming in our little pool in the yard most weekends as it is so hot outside. Simon got bitten by mosquitos about 20 times on Sunday night, they are finally healing.

We are slowly preparing for Simon's party. We are hoping to go present shopping this weekend.

I am really excited about my mother/daughter/aunt trip to Florida in August. It will be my first time away from Isaac and kids. I know it will be a great time, but also will miss my family. It will be a much needed break from life.

We will be saying good bye to are very good friends that moved here when we did in 2004. They leave in two weeks. It will be a hard good bye. Isaac is going to miss his 'movie' friend, that sees all the movies with him that I don't want to see.

In two weeks we have an ice cream party of Friday, two birthday parties on Saturday, so it will be a fun weekend full of sugar and friends.

So that is what is going on with us.

knock knock

Last night we gave the kids hot dogs for dinner. Janna had hers in the bun and Simon’s was cut up with the bun on the side. Simon picked up the bun and said “knock knock” while knocking on the bun. I had no idea what he was doing until he pointed to Janna’s bun. I asked him open? He said yes.
He wanted the bun open, knock knock is what you say when he wants a door open, why not a hog dog bun!

Furniture

I love this piece of furniture. I am not sure where I would put it or how I would it, but love the look of it.

Favorite Aquarium Animals

Holding Hands

I just love it when Simon and Janna hold hands. To me it is a small symbol of the love they have for each other. Also how much Janna takes care of Simon.

Cousin Pictures

Best picture of our attempt of a "group picture" of all the kids.

It is a good thing pictures don't have noise...good picture of the backs though!

Vacation

We had a great time in TN with family this past weekend. It was fun family trip full of blessings.

Friday we left in the afternoon and traveled 4 hours. Once there we had spaghetti dinner with everyone include Uncle Wayne, Shirley, Dot and Cousin Amanda. After dinner our family and Aaron and Christina and the kids all went to the pool to swim. All kids eventually crashed. The adults stayed up and talked for a bit before heading to bed.

Saturday we went to Ripley’s Aquarium in our matching Flag shirts. We got the group picture we have been wanting. The aquarium was fun and a lot cheaper than Dollywood and inside. Military got an 80% discount. This is a nice deal for Aaron and Christina who split up the discount with us. The kids loved the penguins and the children play area. Janna said she liked the dip and dot ice cream too. Aunt Christina was so sweet and got all the kids a present from the gift shop. Janna and Alliayah got a large purple turtle that had sparkles and jewels on it. Simon and Judah got a small green turtle. Asher got sharks. We met Uncle Wayne and the gang at Cracker Barrel for lunch. Then the kids and adults all took nice long naps that afternoon. After dinner of Chicken and Rice with Uncle Wayne and the gang, Isaac and I took the Kids to the pool. Simon got bit by three mosquitoes and swelled up and reacted the same as usually. My poor little boy hurts so badly after they bite him. After the pool the kids went to bed. The adult watched the fireworks we could see from the deck.

Sunday morning we went to church. It was interesting not having a nursery for the kids and an hour and half to two hour service. Simon fell asleep and Janna and Asher were very good. Aaliyah and Judah had the hardest time. After church went to the Apple Restaurant and were joined by UncleWayne and the gang. Then Isaac took Janna to the pool while I attempted to put Simon down for a nap. (It didn’t work). After the other kids work up we had pizza and wings for dinner and then called it a night.

Monday we said our goodbyes to Aaron and Christina and the kids and Dad left soon afterwards. Then Isaac and I took the kids to the pool. We had sandwiches for lunch. Isaac and Simon took naps while Janna had some down time. She woke up really late so she wasn’t tired. Then I went exploring with Janna down to the creek to throw rock in the river. Then all of us, including mom went shopping to the outlet malls for a little bit. Then we came back quickly and had dinner, then Isaac and went on a date. We went to see Twilight Eclipse. It was really good and action packed. It took 40 min to get there because of traffic and bad Google directions. It took only 5 to get back to the room. Once back we packed and cleaned up in order to leave early the next day.

Tuesday we traveled home and then Isaac had to work that afternoon while I played with the kids.

We had a great vacation and we are blessed to have such a wonderful loving family!
