I think the whole family has lost their mind

Monday Night....
Janna wanted to hold one of her marbles when she went to bed. I couldn't find them anywhere. She was sad but didn't threw a fit. We then called Daddy to say goodnight. All she kept saying over and over to him was " Daddy I love my marbles!" When I got on the phone with him he ask did she lose her toy or her mind, both I replied:)

Tuesday Night...
Janna grabbed Simon's head then took both of his ears and started bending them. Then she says " Simon has monkey ears" followed by monkey noises. It was a good laugh. Simon just smiled really big at his big sister.

Wednesday lunch.....
I took the home phone is the car with me while talking to Isaac and pulled out of the driveway until I realized I wasn't on my cell phone.

We currently have 5 baby/toddler chairs in our living room and 5 baby/kids beds in our house. We have only two kids.

A couple months back Isaac tried opening his office door with his car beeper.

If you find out missing pieces out there, just let me know. :)

Janna

I have done a Janna update in awhile. Here is what she has been up to...

Favorite Books: Llama Llama Red Pajama, Thomas the Tank Engine and the Hide and Seek Animals, and Where is the Poop?

She loves to help wash the dishes and play in the water. She is very helpful and will put dirty dishes in the sink, throw trash away, etc...

She does not like baths and will anything to avoid them.

She loves to hug Simon and play with him.

She is counting more and can get to 12 with no problem.

She loves art, coloring, painting, playdoh, ect....

She like to pretend cook and she does a great job.

She likes to do puzzles with mommy.

She is able to tell when she has to pee (when in the tub) then pees in the potty.

She loves shopping ,especially Walmart.

She likes to go in restaurants to eat.

Janna will be three in April. She will tell you this and will tell you she want a pink cake too.

She enjoys grocery shopping, she doesn't get to go very often but since she has been doing better we let her go now and just expect it to take longer

She has great language skills and will talk and tell you all about what is going on.

Janna has a loud laugh that you can't miss and it will make you smile when you hear it.

She still has her shy moments but is opening up more.

She is sleeping through the night but is does take some time to get her down. ( I probably give into her requests too often.)

She loves church and her friends there.

I know there is more, but this is all I can think of for now. Janna is joy to have around and I am really loving this age and all her new discoveries.

Valentines Day

Isaac and I had a great Valentines Day. Mom and Dad came down to watch the kids for us. We walked around the Mall and shared a pretzel. It was very relaxing. I haven't been to the mall without kids since Janna was born. It was a very different experience.
Then we went ice skating. I have wanted to go ice skating for over 7 years but Isaac has never wanted to. We had a blast. I think Isaac has more fun than me. I got tired sooner and hungry too. I miss my skates which I outgrew when I became pregnant, so I had to rent skates. Neither one of us fell. We had a good time and got some exercise too. It brought back many memories of High School when I use to go every weekend with my best friend.
After ice skating we went to Panera bread for dinner. It was empty even though it was dinner time on valentines day. The food was great and we had a good time just being able to just talk to each other or sit in silence.
Then we went to the book store to walk around. After that we got coffee and dessert from Starbucks. It was a great end to the date.
Mom and Dad had fun with the kids and we got to go out.
I have really enjoying doing activities instead of buying gifts. Our gift is the time we give each other.

Simon at 6 months

Simon had his 6 month check up today.
Here are his stats...

weight 14lbs 3 oz
height 25 1/2 in

He gained just over 2 pounds. He is still in the low percentage but the doctor is no longer concerned.

I have started putting him in his 6 - 9 month clothes. Some of them are short on him. His height explains that now.

We start more solids now. He will start getting breakfast, lunch, and dinner now. We plan on making some veggies this weekend for lunch meal. He loves pears, hopefully he will like the carrots too.

He is a very happy boy and love to smile. He especially loves it when Janna gives him attentions. He just lights up.

He wakes up once to eat during the night still but goes right back now. He now is sleeping in the pack and play in our room. He outgrew the bassinet.

He is able to roll over but doesn't often. He loves to kick his feet up and down. It is so cute. I am trying to get it on video still.

Pears

Simon had pears this weekend and love them. Isaac made homemade pears from the baby blender book. He gets so excited, his little legs kick and his mouths open wide ready for the next bit.

"The babies took it"

Last Janna was screaming in bed because she didn't want to sleep or wanted me in the room, or ect... Once she calmed down I went in and explained how if she didn't scream or cry I could come in and help. She told me she was still crying. I asked are you sad, "yes" she answered "I want my paci. The babies took it". It broke my heart. I wanted so badly to pull out a paci for her but I didn't. I explained she was a big girl and found the kooky pen / baby we bought at the store. It worked as a substitute. We have not been saying anything about her paci but apparently she still remembers and wants it. Although it was a fight, she did fall asleep without her paci, even though she was sad.
Sometimes it is tough growing up to be a big girl.

Community

So in Sunday School this weekend the importance of community was brought up. It brought up a lot of emotion and friends were thanking other for their support during tough times. They talked about when they move how hard it would be leaving this community.

On the way home Isaac and talked about this. We have never felt like part of a community. This group is coming close and we are really enjoying getting to know everyone. We hope to become part of this "family"/ community. Out of all the places we have lived we have never felt this. We have made a friendship or two in a town but never had a hard time leaving. We loved the Mt. Zion community and thought that was suppose be how it was, but we are learning that was just the beginning. We are/ were good friends with them but I don't think there was a strong connection like we thought. I miss a few families just as in the towns we lived in before.

Isaac and I have learned to rely on each other for the trust, love, and support that we need. It makes me think I need to learn to be nicer to him when I am upset, etc... because he is my support. I hope that this new young adult group will grow into a community we can trust and love.

Go Steelers

We won the SuperBowl. Yeah Steelers! Janna had fun at her first "football party"!

Simon-milestones

Simon rolled over from his back to front on Friday and then yesterday he got his first tooth. It is side top one. I am still trying to get him on camera rolling over and he will barely let you check out his tooth.

Kooky

Over the weekend we were in Bed Bath and Beyond after a long afternoon of shopping. We were looking for a bench. They had the bench we wanted, and while deciding on the purchase Isaac found a massage chair, simon fell asleep in the stroller, and Janna found the Kooky's. She choose a big one and called it Mommy and then took the whole Kooky pen display of about 10 pens and made them the babies. I took them over to where the massage chair was so Isaac and I could talk. She lined the pens up in a straight line, they took naps and we had to be quiet, they even went on walks across the aisle. I thought we would have a fight when leaving the store.

We decided to wait on the bench due to the large number of baby seats in the room already.

Janna choose one pen with no problem that she wanted to take home. She put all the others back. I really liked the big one but she wanted it to stay there " she was bad mommy". So we left the store with a $2.00 pen that made her day. She hugged and carried this "baby" so carefully. She put it in her shirt, put it to sleep, and told us to be quiet in the car, it was sleeping. It sat in the grocery cart with us. Then she forgot about once she saw the chocolate popcicles.

She was so cute. I wish I would have taken some pictures, but here is a picture of the kooky so you know what they are.
