Princess Janna

A friend of our has a daughter who is 8 I think, but she is cleaning out her room of the princess stuff. Janna got a bag full of stuff. When we got home from the hospital she opened the bag and was so excited. She pulled out a Cinderella pillow and started jumping up and down saying yeah. She said "oh my goodness" a couple of times. She spread the items on the floor and carefully took them one by one back to her room and put them in a special spot. She got a princess jewelry box that she immediately stuff all her necklaces in and was so proud. She put the pink flowered picture frame on the dresser. She threw her favorite yellow pillow on the floor and replaced it with the princess one. She got a plastic snow globe with a picture of Cinderella in it. She is really looking forward to the bubbles she received. She gets to blow them after school today. She got a play oven mitt and she said she is going to cook like Daddy now.

It was so much fun to watch her enjoy this stuff. I wish I recorded it but I just sat and enjoyed it. That night she went to bed princess Janna and King Daddy.

I love my little girl.

Potty

I think this is pretty common. Janna likes to go to the bathroom wherever we are. She goes each time and is keeping her underwear dry. Last night we went at the hospital and the restaurant. Over the weekend she went at Target and McDonald's. We make her try before we leave the house but she gets excited about going anywhere but home. It is very cute.

This morning she was very happy and singing and walking about with her toys. Then I didn't see her. She went in the bathroom and sat on her potty and pooped and peed this morning. She is such a big girl. Only when she was done did she tell us and asked for a Tootsie roll.

It is nice to not have to buy a lot of diapers for her. Now only for Simon. Yeah!

Babies

Last night we went to the Hospital to see two babies. Janna was very good and very excited. Simon just look tired and confused.

Nathan Gregory was born Sunday afternoon to Megan and Jeremiah. This is their first child and they were very excited. She had an epidural but had him the traditional way. She was feeling good. Megan's feet were still swollen due to some medicine they gave at the end of the labor. Poor thing I know she has been looking forward to the swelling going down after the birth so she could wear something beside flip flops. In a week it is suppose to go away though.

Julianne was born yesterday morning via c-section to Jeff and Carrie. This is their second child but their first girl. She came about three weeks early but is healthy and doing well. Carrie is recovering.

We didn't stay long in either room, Megan had other guests, and Carrie has just gotten Julianne back from the nursery after rounds of tests. It surprised me the the difference in natural vs c-section. I am only familiar c-sections. Megan was up and moving and had a double like bed, no IV attached to her. Carrie had what I was used to a typical hospital bed with all the wires and stuff attached. Both were proud moms.

Congratulations to both of our friends.

Lady bugs and Rollie Pollies

Over the weekend we had guest visitors for a couple hours. Janna housed a lady bug and a rollie pollie. She let them go before bed telling me they wanted to go home and not be in a cage. She is a very smart little girl. I think the bugs appreciate that they get to go home to the dirt instead of where they use to go after she plays with them.

My kids are sweet

My kids are allergic to mosquito bites, just like me. Although they are worse. Anytime we take them outside in the evening they come in with bites all over them. Janna gets them at school too. There legs are covered with read dots. Simon is a bit worse because his blister up. Part of it is because he is crawling all over the floor and breaking the blister or making the bug bit worse. He tries to eat the band-aids. I have started putting band-aids on it and then taping it up with the white tape plus socks covering his foot and leg. This allows the medicine to stay on for at least an hour. At night we let them air out or bandage him up and they stay on. But my little Simon moves in his sleep and is often on his knees and feet with his butt in the air. So they are still being rubbed. Janna's bites just turn very red and stay on her for about a week. I have started putting Skin so Soft on her when I remember. I had to do this last August too.

I guess my kids are too sweet the bugs can't resist them. :)

Simon

Simon is into everything, and I mean everything. You set him down in the living room and with-in a minute he has thrown all the remotes on the floor or pulled movies from the shelf or attempting to press the tv buttons. You can no longer eat and hold him because he grabs at you plate/bowl in lighting speed. I can set him down in the kids room with toys and sometimes he MIGHT stay but usually he will grab a toy and start crawling down the hall to the bathroom if the door is open or to Molly's dish if all doors are closed. He is pulling up on everything and putting everything in his mouth.

I kind of remember this stage with Janna but I don't think she was as active. She was talking more at this age though. Until Simon is asleep at night he is on the move. Even at night while sleeping he will move about in his bed. He especially likes corners.

He is very loud especially when eating. He will squawk after each bite if you aren't fast enough. We are trying to break this habit. They are happy / hurry up squawks, but not angry.

He will be turning one in a couple weeks. This year has flown by. He is such fun, lovable, handsome little boy. My favorite thing he does it wrap his arms around my neck and squeeze. I love his hugs.

Potty Training

I think she has it. Janna has been using the potty, wearing big girl underwear, and having very few accidents for about two weeks now. This is even with a temporary new teacher in her classroom. At night we still have diapers but they stay dry about half the time. For long car trips we have put her in a diaper too. For trips to the store, library, etc she stays dry and will go in any restroom. There have been a couple of stubborn mornings where I have bribed her with a cookie to wear her big girl underwear, but it works. She is very proud of herself and we are proud of her.

Overall she is doing really well. When she is tired or it is Monday she is clingy and grumpy but will generally run off with friends with a quick good bye to us in the morning. My beautiful little girl is growing up and become very independent these days.

Happy 4th of July-late

We had a good weekend in Morehead celebrating the fourth of July. I am so impressed, even Janna smiled and looked at the camera. I am thankful for all those men and women for fight for our freedom. We especially are thankful for Aaron and Christina and their service to our country.

Guilty and excited at the same time

I do have have a bag fetish just as Isaac has a book fetish. I usually get rid of one bag before I buy I new one. I am super excited about this deal I got but then feel guilty that yes I bought another type of diaper bag/purse.

I found this website, which will probably get me in trouble in the future, but for now this is the first thing I bought after a week and half of check this site everyday.
http://www.babysteals.com/

My justification was that I can always give it away to pregnant or new mom friend. It think it will be great once I don't need the big bag I have now.

Here is the bag at the retail rate of $47.00. Check out how cool this bag is.

I paid $19.70 with shipping. I know a deal is not a deal if you don't use it or wear it but I do plan on using or giving this as a gift. I think I feel as little more guilty because I have been buying birthday presents for Simon and pre-buying gifts for Christmas/Isaac's birthday that I recently found a great deal on.

God does answer prayers. A couple friend of our has been trying to get pregnant for many years now without any success. We have been praying for them that God will take care of their wants and desires. This morning I received the email below:

"WOO-HOO! We had NO IDEA that I was pregnant. I have been REALLY tired lately, and getting lightheaded a lot. It bothered me enough that I thought I might be dying or something, so I went to the doctor yesterday. After hearing me gripe about all my symptoms, he made me do a pregnancy test. Turns out I passed! :) After four years of trying to have a baby, I never thought we'd be surprised by it...God is so funny that way!We are SO EXCITED!"

What an answer to prayers. Thank you Lord for all you give us. Please be with this couple and keep this baby safe.

Janna + Jesus

We have been reading a Toddler Bible with Janna every night. We also pray with her and talk to her every night. Last night she told Isaac she has Jesus in her heart. This morning he told me Jesus was her friend. The Bible talks about the love and faith of a child, it is awesome to see that develop.

Hearing this from Janna lets us know that we are doing something right is raising her. Thank you lord for giving us the ability to show your love to others.

Simon Waves

Simon has learned how to waive. He looked in the mirror and smiled really big then started waiving and laughing loudly. He was so sweet and happy. Last night when he was suppose to be sleeping he kept laughing and waiving. How do you get mad at that?
