Janna

Last night Janna told me the story of snow white and dopey. Then she sang "five little monkeys hanging from a tree" and then then " Five little monkeys jumping on the bed". She is working on numbers at school.

This morning she said Mommy, Do you know Eric and Rachel? Yes with a smile ( his my brother and sister in law) They haven't been to my house in a long time. Would you like to see them soon. Yes please. She is such a sweet little girl with a big heart.

She just keeps growing. She is having more accidents at school lately, and a few at home at bedtime, we are trying to figure out why. Hopefully it is a phrase. She did poop on the big potty and flush it all by herself. I was a little sad that she is getting so much bigger and better at things, but I am happy to Not have to empty her little potty:)

Simon Update

This morning Simon was head banging to his musical toys. He loves music and sounds. He was dancing too. At one point when Elmo's world was play Isaac heard him singing.

He can eat a banana by himself now.

He says "Wa" for water and has starting trying to repeat us.

He knows sign language for more, please, drink, and a very others that he doesn't use often.

He loves the tunnel he got for Christmas. He and Janna crawl though that and the tent giggling the whole time. They try to get us to come in too, but it is a lot harder for us to get in and out.

We call him Swipper the fox from Dora, because he like to walk to wear Janna is playing and take a toy and run.

He doesn't like to wear his shoes. He will throw fits when you put them on.

He loves walks and sitting next to his sister.

He loves to throw....anything that he should or shouldn't throw.

As much as he wear me out I love my little monster who always keeps me running.

Simon

Simon is healthy and happy. He is always into everything. He loves Janna's toys. The Dora backpack, princess CD player, dress shoes and jewelry. I think he wants to be like his sister. He runs away when you are trying to dress him or change his diaper. He laughs and giggles the whole time. He is currently loving sitting in Janna's princess chair. I have ordered him an Elmo one so they both have one. He loves his Baby genius video with songs and kids and cartoons. Good pick mom. Simon is still a loud eater and loves to eat. He is even sleeping better.

I am so happy to have my healthy baby boy back even though he wears me out!

So proud

I am so proud of my little girl who is growing up too fast.

She has been wearing underwear (panties) to bed at night and hasn't had an accidents. No more pull ups. yeah!

This morning she was so excited to take her new strawberry shortcake movie to school for movie day. I realized as we were walking in that it was last movie we watched in the car at christmas break. I looked in the case and there was no CD. I told Janna I was sorry and we could bring it next week. She very calmly said that is okay I will watch my friends movie. Then a few minutes late she told her teacher that she only had the case but the cd was gone. The old Janna would have cried or gotten upset. Janna was very good and took it well.

On a teacher note it praised that she is interacting with classmates more and cleaning up when told to. Both very good improvements.

Janna has been great at sharing her toys with Simon who seems to like her toys better than his. She is overall very patient with him and shows him how to do something if help is needed.

I am very proud of Janna and she is such a blessing to us.

What happens if...

This morning driving to school in snow here was our conversation...

J: They need to put salt on the road. What does salt do to the snow?

M: The salt melts the snow.

J: What does pepper do to the snow?

M: I think it just sits there. We can do an experiment after school.

J: okay ( with a smile) What happens if you put salt and pepper on the snow?

M: It was melt a little bit I think.

J: I put salt and pepper on green beans. What happens if you put green beans in the snow?

M: They would get really cold.

J: What happens if you put toast in the snow?

M: It was get soggy and wet and yucky.

J: What happens if you put a cup in the snow?

M: you can build a snow castle.

J: went on and on about snow castles, angels, and on and on until we pulled into snow

I love mornings like this! I love my kids!

The kids (minus Judah)

Trying to keep them all calm as dinner is being prepared. The don't all sit for long but how cute!

New Year

There is a reason I don't like New year. The main one is I am always sick on this day.

Asher started with it during the day, then I started throwing up that night. The good news is that mine only lasted that night and by the next day was able to eat and felt fine.

We got home on new years day. The next day, Saturday, Janna started throwing up but was better by bed time. Then Simon started. I have lot count how many times I have had to change clothes, clean up trash cans, sheets, etc...

Sunday was Isaac's Birthday. Isaac got to sleep in, open presents, read his new book, watch the football game, then we went to out to Crackel Barrel for dinner. Simon got sick during dinner because he was trying to eat. Poor little boy. Then Isaac went to a movie Sherlock Homes with his friend Dave. He said it was great day.

Then back to work on Monday. Simon started feeling better on Tuesday. Last night Tuesday night Isaac got sick...we think he is done now but we will have to wait and see.

My family really knows how to ring in the new year!hhahahaha

We had to cancel the birthday dinner at Olive Garden so we didn't get to give a good good-bye to Aaron Christina and the kids. We will miss them.

We had a great break even with the sickness.

Happy New Year! Welcome 2010 and all the changes you have in store for us.

Christmas

We had a great Christmas Break. Our first stop was Fort Thomas. Here are some highlights...
Trip to downtown Cincinnati with my parents and Eric
Viewed the toy train set up
Favorite part-horse carriage ride around the city
Looking at the decorations in the nice hotels
Went on a date with Isaac to see The Blind Side ( a very good movie)
Christmas Day--we are so blessed
Spending time with Eric, Rachel, Mom, Dad ....it was so nice to relax and just hang out together

Drove to Indiana for Collier Family Christmas...
This was a long drive but the kids did well. (thanks to the portable DVD player grandma got us)
We got to see Aaron Christina Asher Aaliyah and meet baby Judah-and mom and dad hopper
The kids didn't nap at all in the car and were very tired by the end of the day
We drove half way home and stayed in a hotel
Simon was overly tired and refused to fall asleep until midnight. It was very long night with little sleep.
Went to church and then had lunch with mawmaw

Drove back to Fort Thomas
picked up Molly
Got to see Eric Rachel again

Next morning drove to Morehead
That night we did the adult Christmas
That morning the kids had Christmas
Got to see all the family and see the kids interact together
It was loud and crazy and at times seemed like a circus
Isaac and I went on a date to La Finca and then to Avator (awesome movie)
We did get some game time in but evenings came fast after a long day with 5 kids

We are so blessed to have great loving family. I am so thankful for all the love we receive.

It was truely a Merry Christmas!
