Janna = Fever

Sunday Night Janna woke up in then middle of night. She felt hot when I went to check on her but she fell back asleep. Monday morning I took her temperature and it was 101. Janna and I stayed home, while Isaac went to work and took Simon to school.

Even with Tylenol the lowest I could get her temperature was 99. She was begging to go to the doctor, so I got an appointment at 1:30. That morning she never left my lap or hip. We snuggled on the couch and in bed. She refused to fall asleep, although she was so tired. She was so cute and puny and so lovable. She didn't eat a thing or talk much at all. She drank about two sips of juice.

We left for the doctor appointment early because she kept asking and we were just waiting at home anyway. We saw Dr. Riley who was very nice. It was just a fever and her throat was only a little sore. Tylenol and Motrin was all he could recommend.

She was not very good when the doctor was looking at her. She had her hands over her ears most of the time. She was very mad when he looked in her ears. She hated the strep test and the finger prick/blood drawn. She was loudly screaming. Of course when were told we could leave she gave him a high five and talked about him not touching her ears anymore. Then as we were walking out the door, he was just in the hallway she told him about the popcicles and grapes she was getting at the store. Then she smiled at him. Dr. Riley was very nice and patient. He even got her a sucker while we waited for the strep and blood test. He got the sucker himself, which I find to be a sign of a good doctor.

Afterwards we went to the grocery store and got the Popsicles and purple grapes she was requesting along with a few other grocery items that were needed. She was too tired to walk and I held her throughout the store. Then she "crashed" in the car on the way home. She took a good short nap.

We stopped to get Simon and then headed home. By 6pm she was playing, eating, talking alot, and generally happy. This morning she was ready to wake up and wanting to go to school. She was better.

I had a good day with her at home with only one minor fit. I am so glad she is better.
